If you do have the time to make a full apple pie, we have all of the best tips and tricks for making this all-American classic. And if you want even more tasty twists on apple pie, we have plenty of delicious apple recipes for you to choose from.

Recipe Ingredients

A few simple ingredients add up to big apple pie flavor! Here’s what you need.

Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Rolls: The perfect shortcut crust for your apple crescent rolls—flaky, golden, and ready to roll.

Granny Smith Apples: The star of the show. We like to use Granny Smith apples because of their tart flavor, which helps balance the sweetness, and their firm, crisp texture, which helps them hold their shape instead of turning to mush. They’re a popular choice for apple baking recipes, but another sweet-tart variety like Honeycrisp would work well, too.

Apple Pie Spice: This warm mix of cinnamon and spice makes every bite taste like fall. If you don’t have it on hand, you can sub in 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and a pinch each of nutmeg, allspice, ginger, and cardamom. And if you don’t have all those spices, that’s okay! Just use 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and these apple dumplings will still turn out delicious.

Other Ingredients You’ll Need: Brown sugar caramelizes and adds a rich sweetness that pairs well with the fall spices; butter gives the apple pie crescents a glossy finish and extra richness.

How to Make Apple Pie Crescents

Making these apple crescent rolls is as easy as it gets—a little apple, a little dough, and a quick trip to the oven is all it takes. Here’s a quick overview. Read on for the full recipe!

1. Prep the Apples and Dough

Toss the apple slices with melted butter. Then, unroll Pillsbury crescent dough and separate into 8 triangles. Stir together a mixture of brown sugar and apple pie spice, and sprinkle it evenly over each triangle.

2. Assemble the Rolls

Place an apple slice at the wide end of each triangle, and wrap the dough around the apple. Don’t be afraid to stretch the dough slightly as you wrap it! Arrange the wrapped crescents on a greased baking sheet, and brush with more butter to make the tops extra golden and tasty.

3. Bake and Enjoy

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes at 375°F until the crescents are fully baked and the apples are tender. We found that some of the caramel oozes out after baking; you’ll want to transfer them off the baking sheet right away so they don’t stick. Let cool for 5 minutes and enjoy a little bite of fall heaven!

Storing and Reheating Apple Pie Crescents

If you have any extra apple pie crescents left, they’re easy to store and reheat for a little encore of cozy apple pie flavor!

Refrigerator

Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Freezer

We don’t recommend freezing leftover apple pie crescents; the apple will get mushy, and the dough will get soggy when thawed.

Reheating

Reheat your leftover apple crescent rolls in a 350°F oven or toaster oven for 8 to 10 minutes until warm.
