Sure, you can, if it is a 9-inch pie plate. It won’t fill the pie plate, for this dish, it won’t matter. If you use a larger pie plate, the Bisquick™ mixture may not cover the ground beef ingredients.
Can we just say, yum! This is an easy variation! To make bacon cheeseburger pie, simply sprinkle 1/2 cup crisply cooked and crumbled bacon over the ground beef mixture in the pie plate. You could also use chopped precooked bacon or real crumbled bacon, instead, and same some cooking time.

Ingredients
- 1 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped (1 cup)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (4 oz)
- 1/2 cup Bisquick™ Original Pancake & Baking Mix
- 1 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vegetable oil

Step1Heat oven to 400°F. Spray 9-inch glass pie plate with cooking spray.

Step2In 10-inch skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain. Stir in salt. Spread in pie plate. Sprinkle with cheese.

Step3In medium bowl, stir remaining ingredients with fork or wire whisk until blended. Pour into pie plate.

Step4Bake 29 to 33 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
